Pitman Arm - 1980-1997 Ford F250/F350
Flat Pitman Arm – Stock F-350 4x4 (1985–1997)
This OEM F-350 4x4 pitman arm is longer than all other OBS pitman arms and is crucial for achieving full steering radius when installing a Dana 60 axle. It’s also the pitman arm used in crossover steering kits for setups with less than 8" of lift.
✔️ Key Applications:
-
Factory F-350 w/ Dana 60:
Direct fit, no modifications needed. -
F-250 w/ Shackle Reversal + Dana 60 Swap:
-
Using new or re-arched F-350 leaf springs? → Use a drop pitman arm (adds 2" of drop over the F-250 arm and allows full steering).
-
Using worn-out factory springs? → This flat F-350 arm is sufficient.
-
-
3” Shackle Reversal on Worn Springs:
Not gaining full 3" of lift — often only 1.5–2" — so the flat arm will typically suffice. -
5” Shackle Reversal + Additional Lift:
This arm alone isn’t enough — you’ll need a crossover steering kit specific to your donor axle (ball joint or kingpin style).
🛠 Fitment Notes:
-
If using a 2005+ Super Duty Dana 60 or GM tie rod ends, select the non-stock application for correct taper/reaming.
-
Choose stock application reaming if retaining factory Dana 60 steering setup.
This pitman arm is essential for maximizing steering capability when upgrading to a Dana 60, especially on F-250 to F-350 conversions or moderate lift builds.
