The factory DC2/DB8 Integra airbox with its paper panel filter was fine for 1994 — but any B-series engine that's been driven for two decades deserves better airflow than a restrictive plastic box designed to meet mid-90s NVH targets. The rubber intake snorkel snakes through the engine bay with multiple bends, and the small-diameter piping chokes the B18's ability to breathe freely above 4,000 RPM — exactly where VTEC crossover should be waking up, not falling off.

This Flashark Red Ram Air Intake replaces the entire factory airbox and intake tract with a mandrel-bent T-304 aluminum pipe finished in a vibrant red polished powder coat. The larger-diameter tube eliminates the factory choke points, and the open-element high-flow dry cone filter draws a denser, less-restricted air column directly into the throttle body.

The result: sharper throttle response off idle, stronger pull through the 3,800–5,800 RPM mid-range, and the unmistakable B18 induction growl that the factory airbox spent two decades trying to silence. Fits all 1994–2001 Acura Integra models equipped with the 1.8L B18B1 (non-VTEC) or B18C1 (GS-R VTEC) engine — RS, LS, GS, SE, and GS-R, in both coupe/hatchback and sedan body styles.

No tune, no cutting, no fabrication. Install in 30–60 minutes with basic hand tools.

Key Features

1. Red Polished T-304 Aluminum Intake Pipe

This is the red variant — a polished T-304 aluminum pipe finished with a vibrant red powder coat that stands out against the Integra's engine bay. T-304 stainless-grade aluminum provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio and resists corrosion from underhood heat cycles. The mandrel-bent construction preserves full interior bore diameter through every bend, unlike crush-bent pipes that collapse the inner wall.

2. Replaces the Entire Factory Intake Tract

The stock DC2/DB8 intake path runs from a restrictive plastic airbox housing a paper panel filter, through a narrow rubber snorkel with tight-radius bends, to the throttle body. This kit eliminates everything from filter to throttle body, replacing it with a straight-shot design that flows more air with less turbulence.

3. High-Flow Dry Cone Filter — Washable, No Oil Required

The included open-element cone filter uses a dry media design — no oil to apply, no cleaning schedule to track, and no risk of over-oiling contaminating the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. The open-element design exposes the filter to ambient engine bay air for maximum flow. When it gets dirty: tap it clean or wash it, dry thoroughly, and reinstall — zero recurring cost.

4. Gains Across the Mid-Range (+8–10% HP/TQ)

On the B18 engine, the factory intake restriction is most pronounced in the 3,500–6,000 RPM range. By eliminating the paper filter and accordion tubing, this intake delivers a measurable 8–10% horsepower and torque improvement across the mid-range — exactly where you feel it pulling out of corners and accelerating on the highway.

5. Faster, More Responsive Throttle

Without the factory airbox and snorkel acting as a muffled buffer between the throttle plate and incoming air, throttle response becomes noticeably more immediate. The engine reacts quicker to pedal inputs at low RPM and reaches higher RPM more eagerly. This is one of the most satisfying changes on a daily-driven Integra.

6. The B18 Induction Sound the Factory Muted

The DC2/DB8 Integra's factory intake was deliberately silenced with resonator boxes and thick plastic walls to keep cabin NVH low. Removing that hardware reveals the B18's natural induction character — a deep, mechanical growl under hard throttle that transitions into the classic VTEC crossover bark. Around-town driving remains civil; only when you push the pedal do you hear the difference.

7. Direct Bolt-On — No Cutting, No Tuning Required

Every bracket, coupler, and clamp is included in the kit and matched to the factory Integra mounting points. The pipe slides onto the throttle body using the supplied silicone coupler. There is no requirement for an ECU tune — the factory ECU adapts to the increased airflow naturally over 50–100 miles of driving. For faster adaptation, disconnect the battery for 10 minutes after installation to reset the ECU's fuel trims.

8. 30–60 Minute DIY Install

This is one of the easiest bolt-on upgrades on the DC2/DB8 platform. You need basic hand tools: 10 mm and 12 mm sockets, a flathead screwdriver for hose clamps, and 15 minutes to review the included instructions. Remove the factory airbox, snorkel, and resonator box. Mount the Flashark pipe to the throttle body with the silicone coupler and stainless clamps. Attach the filter to the open end. Done.
