Description
Description
1998.5-2018 Cummins 5.9L/6.7L Hamilton Cams Valve Spring Set (07-s-003)
Is your 24valve dodge Cummins running more than 35 psi of boost or exhaust drive pressure or over 3800rpm? Then you are experiencing valve float and reversion. Stock springs rated at just 80 lbs 0f seat pressure (at 1.380″) can’t consistently control the valvetrain under high boost or high rpm. As boost pressure increases, the valves risk being blown open, causing reversion—the reintroduction of exhaust gases into the cylinder on the intake stroke. Excessive exhaust gasses greatly slow combustion and reduce power. As rpm goes above 3800 rpm, the OEM springs do not have enough pressure to stop valve float, which can cause cast tappets to fracture.
Key Benefits
- Increased Seat Pressure: Eliminate the risk of valves blowing open under high boost/rpm.
- Optimized Power Delivery: Prevent reversion for cleaner, more efficient combustion.
- Protect Your Camshaft: higher seat pressure, but moderate nose pressure, gives you the pressure you need to control your valvetrain to 4500rpm without the worry of cam or tappet failure.
- Reliable Performance to 4,500 RPM: Beyond 4,500 RPM, consider upgrading to our #110 springs for safer operation.
- Warranty Considerations: We only warranty our cams if you run Hamilton springs and tappets—protect your investment from avoidable wear and damage.
