7.3 Dipstick Repair

Description:

A permanent external oil leak repair kit that can be installed with basic hand tools.

The leak at the dipstick flange is a common issue with the 7.3 Powerstroke motor. The factory O-ring inside the adapter swells over time due to oil exposure, deforming the inner piece and loosening the outer nut. Tightening the nut offers only a temporary fix, as it further deforms the adapter.

The factory repair involves removing the oil pan and replacing the entire unit from the inside, which is time-consuming and costly. Some aftermarket options repair the leak from the outside, such as a weld-in bung, which requires welding skills, or a bolt-on unit that leaves a loose part inside the pan.

Our kit reuses the internal part and moves the seal to the outside of the pan, eliminating the need for welding and avoiding leaving any loose parts inside the pan.

DISCLAIMER: This kit works only with FACTORY or DORMAN internal dipstick flanges. If your dipstick nut has been over-tightened and the threads are damaged, you may still experience a small leak.
