Barnes 4wd is proud to introduce our 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and LJ Steering Box Relocation Stretch Kit! This kit is designed to allow the trail capable wheelbase that your Jeep Wrangler needs, up to 106 inches with the complete system. With this kit you can stretch your steering box forward 4 inches.
- This kit is to move your steering gear forward on the frame 4 inches. This allows room to stretch your front wheelbase 4 inches and keep your steering gearbox, making for better road manners with a stretched suspension.
Steering box relocation kit highlights
- This kit will move the steering box forward 4 inches from the factory location
- If used on a 03-06 model Wrangler the Mercedes steering box will need to be replaced with a steering box from a 1997-2002 model
- Significant modifications to the frame are required including cutting, grinding, and welding
- The steering shaft from the column to the steering box will need to be modified
- Your front bumper will be replaced with a weld in place crossmember
- A winch mount and steering box skid is provided with the kit
- A 1 inch body lift is recommended
- This kit is compatible with our TJ & LJ steering kits, if the front axle is moved forward 4 inches
