The Solarcon A99 (formerly known as the Antron 99) is one of the most popular and trusted fiberglass base station antennas for CB radio operators, amateur radio enthusiasts, and commercial communications users. Designed for maximum performance and easy installation, the A99 provides exceptional transmit and receive capabilities with omnidirectional coverage and a rugged weather-resistant construction.
Standing approximately 18 feet tall and constructed from high-strength fiberglass, the A99 features Solarcon's exclusive Twin Ring Adjust-A-Match tuning system, allowing users to fine-tune SWR for optimal performance across a wide frequency range. The antenna is pre-tuned for CB frequencies and can be adjusted for use on adjacent frequencies and the 10-meter amateur radio band.
The antenna's half-wave over quarter-wave design delivers excellent signal efficiency while requiring no ground plane for operation. Rated for up to 2,000 watts PEP, the A99 is ideal for both local communications and long-distance DX contacts. Its three-section construction makes assembly straightforward, while its DC-grounded design and high-voltage insulation help provide protection from static buildup and environmental conditions.
