What is Cherry Wax?

Cherry wax, in the detailing world, is a quality wax that will enhance a vehicle's visual appeal by providing protection and shine to the paintwork. This wax consists of a red color with a pleasant cherry scent. The gloss, luster, and shine that this product adds to a dull vehicle will provide a deep richness. Not only will cherry wax enhance appearance, but it will also protect your vehicle from sun damage or uv rays, bird droppings, pollutants, and it acts as a paint sealant. 

What Ingredients are in Cherry Wax?

Cherry wax is formulated in different ways, however, some general ingredients or chemicals you may find in these products are;

• Carnauba wax which is a natural wax popular for its hardness and high melting point. This wax is what provides that glossy finish and protection.
• Beeswax is also a natural wax that may be found in cherry wax as it gives a deep warm glow to a paint job.
• Synthetic waxes such as polymers or silicones add to the long lasting protective layer. These bond with car paint which makes them stronger compared to natural waxes. Silicones specifically give that shiny and wet look to a vehicle. 
• Solvents are added to keep the wax from going too hard or too soft. 
• Oils are often added to enhance shine and make it easy to apply or buff away. 
• Colorants and fragrance is what gives that cherry aesthetic. These do not affect or damage the protective properties of the wax, it just adds to the experience. 

How to Use Cherry Wax?

Instructions may vary from brand to brand, but a simple guide to using cherry wax is as follows;

1. Start with a clean car. Use car shampoo and water to remove any loose particles and dirt. Make sure the car is dry before using wax.
2. Apply three pea-sized dots of the cherry wax onto an applicator pad and begin to use side to side then up and down motions to apply it to the car.
3. Once you have the wax applied to the vehicle, allow for it to cure for around five minutes.
4. Once it has cured, use a clean microfiber towel to buff away the wax and reveal a nice and shiny finish.
